- Hello everyone,
-
- After sending my last message regarding the problems with hiding nested views I
- downloaded the latest from MacApp.Tech$ archives and of course found out that I
- wasn't the first person to notice. Sorry for making everyone download my long
- link. After reading the links from Scott Collins and Dan Chadwick regarding the
- focusing problems I realize that hiding views is part of a larger picture that
- includes lots of new quirks in MacApp 2.0. I also like Scott's version of
- TView.IsShown better than mine.
-
- I only converted my application to MacApp 2.0 a week ago and although it wasn't
- as bad as going from ß5 to ß9 I must admit that I am a little disappointed. I
- like the direction things are going but perhaps the release of 2.0 could have
- waited a little longer? I remember sitting in a group at OOPSLA (the last time
- I socialized with any MacApp'ers) having a discussion about whether we wanted a
- stable bug-free 2.0 with no new features or a 2.0 that would support the new
- system, etc. I forget the conclusion of the discussion, but we don't seem to
- have gotten either thing exactly. After reading links that suggest that known
- bugs have gone unrepaired in this release I would venture a guess that 2.0
- final should be called 2.01ß. Does MADA track bugs independantly of Apple?
- About the only positive thing I can say at this point is that what I see in my
- Mouser windows seems to be getting cleaned up, and I hope that the cleaning is
- continuing even while IAC and AppleEvents are going in. So where's my 2.1ß copy
- guys?

- P.S. I'm not on MacApp.Tech$. I think PostRes belongs in MacApp.
